IOP outreach in China

Prof. Richard de Grijs, who is based at the Kavli Institute for Astronomy and Astrophysics in Beijing, recently gave a lecture on distances in the universe to some 400 children at No. 2 Hanyuan High School in the Sichuan province as part of the IOP’s international outreach programme.

The day also included hands-on classroom physics experiments, which were so popular the kids didn’t want to stop!
