Nominate your choice of outstanding physicists for the Institute Of Physics Awards 2012
The Institute of Physics awards recognise and reward outstanding achievements by physicists working in industry, business and research as well as contributions made to physics outreach and education, and the application of physics and physics-based technologies.
We are now seeking nominations for the 2012 Awards and need your help to nominate the most outstanding physicists in their respective fields. The awards committee select recipients from the nominations they receive each year, so it is up to you to ensure that your subject is well represented to them. The committee particularly welcome nominations for women physicists and physicists from ethnic minority backgrounds who are often under-represented in the nominations that we receive.
Full details of the nomination procedure, eligibility and terms of reference are available on our website. Nominations should be sent to awards@iop.org and the closing date for receipt of nominations is Friday 13 January 2012.

Yes is a good idea, especially the statement that says, the committee particularly welcome nominations for women physicists and physicists from ethnic minority backgrounds who are often under-represented in the nominations that we receive. If this statement really hold then it will be of good benefit for the ethnic minority backbground.
