Physics fun at the North East Showcase
The Scottish Council for Development and Industry held their third annual North East Showcase at Shell’s Woodbank House last week, giving Young Engineers and Science Clubs from primary and secondary schools in the region the opportunity to showcase their activities, share best practice and compete in a series of exciting, three-minute hands-on technology challenges set by around 10 companies. Around 120 young engineers, teachers and companies attended this action-packed day.
The Institute of Physics had a stand at the showcase, and three physics students from the University of Aberdeen entertained the pupils with various physics tricks, including ping pong ball hairdryer, balloon kebabs and spinning on a chair.
